well, adam definitely won on saturday. he not only swept the floor but washed it too. impressive, no? maybe it was goodwill. maybe it was his mother's influence (he claims phyllis inspires him to clean on saturdays). or, maybe his girlfriend is coming in less than three weeks.
but, i think i took sunday's title. saturday afternoon while adam was probably busy cleaning, i took off on my scooter and ended up at the the appliance store on our island where they just happened to be having a saturday/sunday sale on one sleek black oven (or, oh-boon, as koreans say without the "v" or short "e" sound in their language). well, let's just say the baker inside me won out and this afternoon my sleek black oven arrived at my apartment. i talked about buying a scooter for seven months before committing; the oven took eight.
no regrets tho. this afternoon was spent whipping up some banana bread and chocolate chip cookies that trump anything that ever came out of a toaster oven. and, just think of the possibilities of what else could happen in Room 307... pie, lasagna, casseroles of every kind and color, and, yes, even scones!! yahtzee!
